I looked in the Classified section and didn’t see any members selling seals or kits.  I also looked online and wasn’t having much luck.  I know we’re not supposed to sell items in the Ask A Member section, but I need help finding parts.

Can somebody point me in the right direction to find these seals?

      303345 Seal –aft prop shaft

      303360 O-Ring, prop shaft

      303328 Seal, spaghetti

I have the seal for the shift rod, and maybe the spaghetti seal.  IDK if different gear cases use different diameter spaghetti?

If all else fails, you can try sourcing seals via “size” using
          the lookup link here….
          CR Seal Finder

Also, McMaster Carr sells the spaghetti seal in bulk.
Search on site for the size, I know it’s been brought up before.

          Prepare to be boarded!

I’m pretty sure they are all still available, did you look on marineengine.com?

Seal kit for that motor is Sierra 18-2679.   Includes all the parts and pieces you noted.

                Hi Jacques,

When you say to make sure that the clutch isn’t stretched, are you talking about what the parts book calls the “pinion shaft and shock absorber assembly”?  Does that lower shaft & assembly just pull out by grabbing the pinion gear?

Since I haven’t done this before, IDK what normal vs stretched looks like, or what the remedy is if it’s stretched.

Do you know if there’s an existing post about it, or if it’s in “the Red Book”?

                Thanks so much!

the clutch (SHOCK ABSORBER)   spring will sometimes break  causing it to strech enough to cause rub marks on the underside of the water pump  and as was my case….. caused all sorts of headhaches  cloosing up the  LU .  it repeatedly failed pressure testing until i realized the problem.

I had  my friend  tack weld the thing at 6″11/16  on 3 spots around and  made certain the welds did not protude …we simply polish them up with a grindrer.

The  cluch is removed by removing the water pump layers and simply pulled out.    With theshock absorb capabilities gone  I used a 3/16 brass rod to cut me some  brass drive pins.

Thanks so much for the video link!

I read the section in the Red book, but was surprised that it didn’t say anything other than it doesn’t need service unless it’s broken.  I’ve already made a bunch of brass shear pins, and have a variety of welders to make the repair if necessary.  I was surprised when I replaced seals on my FD-10 that the factory seals were still in place. I could see over spray of factory paint.  Now I took apart this CD-13, and found the same thing!

All of the bushings, gears, etc. look good on both the CD-13 and CD-15.  I need to put the clutch dogs side by side to see which is in better shape, but at first glance, there’s minimal wear.

I appreciate everyone helping me learn and showing me where to find parts.
