      Hello,

Are  new ignition coils, points and condensers available for  my 1946 Johnson HD 25. My initial search has been disappointing. Thank you.

Sorry to say, there’s no “new” coils, but they made millions of those coils,
so eBay or advertising on site is probably your best bet.
Points can be dressed, and condensers substituted.

In this hobby there are very few new parts available. You’re careful with the good stuff you have as other motors are the only source for replacement parts. As far as coils go they are usually good but the point where the wires are attached to the coil is fragile. Care should be taken that this point doesn’t become loose. If it does the coil is likely to fail. Few of these motors were ever run enough to really use up the points. Replacement condensers are available.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
