So do all the 22 cu in motors use the same bracket and starter? I took one from a 57 18 hp and used it in a 72 25 HP Without any problems, that being said my guess is it should work…. I do know the starters from 1957 all the way through 1978 are the same, you can buy the new starter at discount starter and alternator for about 70 bucks 😎
