A number of years ago, a guy from eastern Pa. designed an ignition for the 20h from an OMC ignition and flywheel.

He brought it to one of our races and raced under APBA probation rules.  His goal was to have it approved by the Modified Racing Commission (MORC).

I remember seeing the cut down flywheel and brackets for the OMC coils.

This is from the APBA Mod Tech Manual for AMOD concerning the 20h:

The Phelon ignition can be replaced with the OMC CD2 system utilizing the OKMC cast steel
flywheel PN 584584 / CN 513972 prepared in the same manner as the Sidewinder / Hot Rod
OMC flywheel 584222. The flywheel must meet the existing rule weight. No modification of
the crankcase or block is allowed. The flywheel must be machined by an approved modified
    source.

Be forewarned.  If it is only available through the APBA, you may need a valid ABPA racing membership to purchase.

This was the case when the Mercury 15 A engine was introduced.

    Sincerely,

    Doug
