The prop is your impeller. It pulls water out of the opening in front of it, forward motion and the prop pushes water into the opening behind it. Nothing to the carb, Only thing is the throttle barrel, that the lever is attach to, must be rotated to the proper position for it to slide out.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
