Well, isn’t this interesting as your motor is a ’71 four horse and it has the correct needles but the 2001 model number identifies it as a ’51 – ’52 25 horse. It looks like the tag has been pop riveted on to so this motor may have a shady past.
Take a look at the Welch plug on the block and see what numbers are stamped on it, if the plug is still there.
