This begs a question I’ve had in the past. I have seen numerous conflicting directions on how to install the flywheel key. Some say key face parallel to crank centerline and others say key face parallel to crank taper. I have a copy of an Evinrude service bulletin somewhere that clearly indicated parallel to taper. So which should it be? And does it perhaps differ according to motor HP size?
