I wouldn’t remove the tube from the foot unless it is totally destroyed. Then cut and splice a new length of tube. Yes, you can un-flare the tube and re-flair, with luck. Have done this several times. Even if the tube is not re-flared but only sealed at the top of the tower it shouldn’t leak. Good luck 😉
