    I feel I need the regulator as I have a modern (read new) depth sounder and really don’t want to pump 16 volts thru it. Now I just turn it off when we start travelling and the output of the alternator starts to climb. There are plenty of NOS units out there for $50 or so, I was just hoping to get a whole parts engine with other ‘expendables’ just in case. I’m not in a hurry as I probably won’t work on the rig until fishing ends this year. Unless something breaks.
