    Thanks for the responses guys. I expected answers similar to yours but as always had hopes for a miracle. I am also looking for a voltage regulator to install on the engine and the ‘78 had one so my fingers were crossed. There is a unit for my specific year on eBay, $500. Like fleetwin suggested, I’m going to just keep looking for a parts engine with the right equipment. Until then I’ll just keep taking my Tylenol!
