    Sorry, but the midsections are completely different between the 1975 and 1978 V4 models….You won’t be able to interchange any of those PTT parts…
    Your older V4 used a unit that was mounted externally to the transom brackets, the 1978 models had a newly designed unit that was neatly housed in between the transom brackets…
    Trying to find a good working PTT unit for your engine will be hard, especially in salt water areas…Best to look in inland fresh water areas, perhaps someone will have a blown engine with a decent PTT unit. These things are hard to find, so don’t expect to find any "bargains"….
