That’s an interesting idea to silver solder a new point contact in place. But instead of using nickle welding rod I think I would try a tungsten contact from a donor set of points. A carbide masonry drill tip is tungsten carbide and it brazes with brass to steel I don’t see why you could not affix a genuine contact with silver. Necessity is the mother of invention. Bill,
