Squier, thanks again. Good think about all the grime, I’m guessing
our Johnson’s were well oiled. My compression seems pretty good
but I haven’t actually checked it yet.

It’s nice not to have much "paint" to contend with, but on the other hand,
I’m not set up for "polishing" aluminum either.
I have an old kit with one little round buffer wheel that goes in a drill,
and three bars of compound.
I’d be interested in hearing what others do with their "bare aluminum"
projects.

I’m not looking for something "shinier" than when it left the Johnson
factory, but given that note, "what did that bare aluminum look like
on the showroom floor"?
