    A discussion from S&F, note Jay Smith Racing comments throughout, he repairs a lot of service engines and sees the innards. Seems the Pennzoil semi syn XLF or their Premium Plus are favorites and Jay recommends them:

    Of course oil discussions are filled with a lot of IMO like best beer discussions. I use the Penn XLF in my Merc and Yamato 7000+ rev outboards no issues with oil.
