My motor is a little later model with center mounted carb. I believe the mixer (carb) would work just fine as mounted. It even has a throttle between mixer and crankcase which doesn’t show well in photo. Don’t believe it’s home made as there are several nice castings, one of which is part of the lower crankcase housing. Water pump is some kinda of centrifugal pump mounted on unseen side of the aluminum casting. Upper crankcase flange has no serial stamped into it or even a "flat" to stamp it on.
