The good ole days when dad could buy an outboard motor, tune-up parts for the car, and mom could buy a new stove all in one trip. Christmas could be bought for the entire family, even toys for the kids. My dad worked in a similar auto supply/home store back in the 50’s. I remember the time when they converted to just auto supply parts. Dad and mom bought a whole house full of clearance items due to the owner giving his employees first shot at them. That Christmas was a toy haul for us kids. Never was the same after that. I watched the store gradually slow down and close when NAPA and other suppliers came on the scene. I have a small collection of ads, a couple outboards, and small stuff from that era.
