    Also the reverse balls that are not engaged when going forward are thrown outward and interact with the inside of the reverse gear. Which is rotating the opposite way..so the balls rattle on the inside of the reverse gear when in forward. Thats why they use balls instead of pins. The balls can work in and out of the prop shaft without catching the inside of the reverse gear when in forward.
