I’ll throw this out there. Not all 6V starters are created equal either, the green bracket is the original starter to my 1955 RDE-17 which I couldn’t get to work correctly so I bought the other one in the red bracket which is off of a 1956 RDE-18. Both are 6 volt starters but the size difference is obvious. Thankfully all of the bolt hole mounting locations and rubber grommet mounting locations were the same so the swap worked out.
