    To protect the automotive aerosol spray and make it fuel proof I started using aerosol semi-gloss polyurethane. I’ve used Cabot’s and Minwax. It is a mineral spirit based coating and the semi-gloss gives it a more authentic appearance. You must let the lacquer based paint thoroughly dry before applying. I’ve had good success doing this. With that said, please consider supporting Reprotint as they are a major advertiser with AOMCI and they produce a good product.
