You can always try the carb cleaner, but something could heave been sucked in that the car cleaner won’t dissolve. You’ve got nothing to lose by trying carb cleaner, but it’s not very difficult to pull the reed assembly – I don’t remember the specifics of that engine but you may have to pull the gas tank – and that comes off easy too. Another thought on the carb cleaner – if it dislodges foreign material caught inthe reed, that will move through the crankacase and cylinders – probably without problems but there is a slight chance of problems depending on what the material is.
