The top of my bench is covered with an offset
printing blanket. It can be best described as a heavy
canvas coated with rubber. Most solvents don’t bother
it. Really easy to keep clean, grips parts so they aren’t
sliding around, and a soft landing for anything that gets
dropped. Sometimes I do get behind in my cleaning and
as you can see, occasionally, I have allowed it to get into
this deplorable state.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
