I look forward to seeing an all Australia outboard thread. The Rip Tide Sportsman is one motor I would love to have in my collection. I’ve never seen or heard of one on this side of the globe. Probably very few ever made it over here, if any.
There aren’t very many of the Riptide Sportsman motors around here in Australia – only a few in museums and private collections…basically the same story with the Anzani Minors over here – there’s not a lot of them around.
I myself only have a Riptide Fisherman that I am currently restoring.
Most of the Australian motors I know the whereabouts of are either here in Aus or in New Zealand, and those motors are mostly Riptides and Sea Sprites (both mentioned in the article I wrote for the Jan 17 Outboarder with pictures). The Cromac Cadet is also a rarer outboard here in Australia… hopefully if a specific Australian Outboard Thread is made more information will be provided on all these motors.
