Yes it is best to glue them. If it is black trim take the time to find black adhesive. Adjust your cowling latches so that they hold the cover down, but not tight enough to deform the seal. Test fit it before you glue it. Then put the cover on after glueing and snap it down. Leave it for at least 24 hrs. If you are worried about adhesive getting on the lower pan spray it with silicone lubricant. Works great for me. I use an emblem adhesive from auto shops. Wicked stuff! Doesn’t take much.
