The only thing you need to watch is you
don’t want the head of the bolt turning
against the aluminum of the block.
I suspect that once you break them loose
you’ll be able to pull them off off but at
no time do you want to twist the cylinder
as you can twist the rod.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
