As a quick fix for the missing rubber on my 1989 9.9 cam follower, i used a precisely cut strip of Gorilla Tape cut to the perfect length so the tape wouldn’t overlap once it was applied and wrapped around one layer and make a bump. I did 2 layers like this. I did this while anxious to test this motor. the redneck fix works great, but i will purchase a whole new roller or try one of our responders methods,when i rebuild the carb.
Sometimes thinking outside the box works just as well, and cheaper too. most of the time it is cheaper and you "beat the system" 😀
