What your seeing is mostly oil not fuel.
Today’s oil doesn’t burn like the oil from
the past did. A lot less smoke and the carbon
deposits are almost non existent in the
Pennzoil synthetic oil I have been using
but I suspect today’s conventional oil performs
much the same. How much residual oil you
have is relative to the type and amount of oil
you run. How does what your running compare
to what the seller uses in type and amount?

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
