Cajuncook1 yes I did Thanks for those links! In this particular part of the cutaway diagram this panel is obscured to show what’s inside. It does look like there should be a panel there & a gasket. I’m willing to bet this was done to seal the panel because the gasket was failing.

Melugin thanks that is going to be my next step. There are two screws holding the gear housing cover on, one is stuck. I saturated it with PB Blaster and will try again later.
