Since this stirred up a little interest, and my question yet to be answered, here are some additional cowls from the other 5.5’s I am restoring. The first picture is the front of the original cowling which I am still curious as to it’s year of manufacturer.
The second picture is from my CD-12 (cream trim with wing nut attachment).
The third picture is of the cowling that came with one of my two CD-11’s.
Good point that over the years, pieces/parts may have been intermingled, but looking back and doing some forensic genealogy is half the fun. Again, the cowl in question looks like an outlier to me.
