Well guys, the strangler deal fell apart. The motor was part of an estate being divided up between 3 family members. The person I was dealing with was ready to sell the motor to me for $400. His Brother in Law stepped in and said he consulted an "expert" in outboard motor values 🙄 and the "expert" told him it was worth at least $2000, and I was a craigs list "scammer" trying to rip off the family. The thing is, the motor was not in great condition and needed a total rehab and he set the price… not me. When I asked who his ‘Expert" was, it turns out he’s some 20 something kid that works as a motorcycle mechanic. So I told him good luck and went on my way. I was told the motor should be showing up on Ebay soon for $2000.
