    Jason,
    Does your luberplate say what it’s thickness it is? I have used Luberplate in many shift & direct drive gears without any issues including my 63 Merc 20hp & ran & shifted correctly. Remember this is only my experiences but have great performances with it without any damage. I check mine every time they go on the boat.
