I’ve found a welder who says he can weld the tiller, which I think is caste aluminium. I put a mix of gear oil and acetone down the king pin and it is starting to loosen but still tight and not coming off completely. The bottom nylon bushing on the king pin has broken up (maybe the torch or acetone) and I’ve managed to get parts of that out from around the king pin which has helped loosen it further. The steering friction adjustment screw is also loosening so some progress. so far total refurb spend is 0 but a few hours sweat and tears.
