    I have often seen that an unknown filter or screen gets missed. Sometimes there is one in the inlet fitting of the pump, though I don’t know about Mikuni. Sometimes a metal screen look superficially OK but is blocked by corrosion. Have you undone all the hoses and checked for a swollen or kinked inner tube? Can you borrow and try a different hose/bulb assembly?
