That carb is definitely NOT original to that motor. Not that it wont work, but is from a different model.
The threaded hole fleetwin is referring to is in top right corner, to the left of the spring. The throttle shaft on your motor is most definitely supposed to have a square side as mentioned. I have rebuilt a gazillion (is that a real number!?) of these 50s/60s OMC carbs, and have never seen a carb like that on them. Im going to dig through my parts inventory to see if I can determine what its from. I think OMC, but cannot think off hand what model. Im curious now.
