True enough…compare silver Kiekhaefer KD3/4 with KE3, KE4 which were nearly same ‘motor
with stamped aluminum tanks replacing cast aluminum tanks. You seldom see a dented cast aluminum tank or an undented stamped aluminum tank.

It is far easier to reseal a leaky cast aluminum tank than to undent a stamped aluminum tank.
