OK, well I’m not sure of anything right now. Sounds like the engine runs lousy at all speeds, but won’t run at all at low speeds, correct? The engine isn’t going to idle with the needle set at only 1/2 turn out from gently seated though.
Tell us more about how it "sputters and quits", kinda sounds like it may be dropping a cylinder. Have you done a good spark test, or perhaps you might want to try the inline neon spark testers while the engine is running. I suppose, as always, I should start at the beginning with new plugs though.
Can you post a video of the engine misbehaving?
