Sounds like my QD19 – ran great but turned water to steam when I came off plane and discolored the midsection, right after complete powerhead rebuild. Cyl. head not hot, everybody here offered advice, ended up pulling the P/H and drilling a small hole in the midsection water inlet passage, so the water would spray on the starboard midsection housing.
