These motors don’t run hotter than normal. It is possible that some of the water passages are blocked, but let’s go with the worn impeller first.
You need to loosen the neutral cable at the handle on the top of the motor. Try not to pull it all the way through as it can be a pain to thread back. You’ll be able to then pull the plate out of the way and access the impeller. The edges of the plate are pretty sharp, so be careful.
