Here’s a ’72 two horse which never did seem to want to run right. It kept getting harder and harder to start and finally wouldn’t start at all. Under the head I found a blown head gasket with a matching burn thru groove in the top of the cylinder. A little bit of time in the lathe straightened out both the head and the cylinder. The local dealer brought the crank seals in but I had to order new bearings from China. A new piston and rings were found online so hopefully after a new paint job and decals it will run again.
