    I’m not sure what the compression is supposed to be on these motors but I have a 1978 2R78R and it is right close to 90 psi also. It runs and idles well but sometimes it takes more to start than I think it should. It is pretty finicky about the carb settings. Once it’s dialed, in snug up the packing to avoid accidentally moving it. That’s pretty easy to do on these motors.
