@PerryS – I think the noise was because I was trying to use the yellow wires as a charge circuit not a kill switch (damn wiring diagram). I ran them to a rectifier and back into the battery hot.  That was evidently…wrong.  Pretty sure there’s a bad condenser.  Both coils ohm out identical to each other.  I bought some replacements anyway.  Once it runs I might add a charging circuit.
