OK, well the new OEM coils are still available.  Someone has a newer ignition kit installed already, I can tell by the short condensors.

All that being said, I would agree, the older points are better quality than the new stuff, even OEM.   But, there is one thing you must inspect prior to reusing old point.  That is rubbing block wear.  The non metalic rubbing block will slowly wear down after years of riding against the point cam.  Eventually, the point cam will rub on the metal part of the breaker point arm shorting them out.  You can not reuse old points if the rubbing blocks are close to being worn out….
