The Folding N cylinders were copper plated originally. There were several motors that had nickel plated cylinders but this is the only motor I know of that had copper plating on them. If it’s gone the paint is a good substitute. The copper plating will shine like a new penny (for a while) if you have a mind to polish it. Aidan, rub some metal polish on one of your cylinders in a few places. I think you’ll find some of the copper is still there.
