    My dad bought an SD-15 in 1947 and it ran well on our 15′ Lyman runabout.  My dad was wanting more speed so we upgraded to a 1948 Evinrude Speedifour, also a fun motor to run and waterski behind.  I still have both motors.  With no neutral, we just pointed them toward open water before starting.
