I fish Lake St. Clair,  often times several miles from shore. Also the St. Clair River. Getting stranded miles from shore is a big concern if mine. I’m running in a 14 foot Sea Nymph.

Peace of mind is worth something. Ive got an 18hp 59 Evinrude. Sometimes it doesn’t go into forward gear. One time I had limp back to port in reverse a mile and a half. I was just looking for something more reliable.

Probably was overpriced. Maybe ill tear into the old Evinrude, again.
