    I found there was a very small space between the nut and the brass coupler. I got the smallest screwdriver I had and tapped it in ever so lightly, rotating the shaft between each tap of the hammer to try and keep the pressure even. It started to move. after about 10 minutes and my collection of screwdrivers, it came off. Now, If I can get to the bearings .
