It’s your boat and you’re free to do what you want with it.I’ve seen the long term effects  on old wood hulls and would not recommend it.Fiberglass makes the hull heavier and susceptible to rot.A lot of old strip planked boats and canvassed canoes have been ruined with fiberglass.There is a wealth of information on the subject so research thoroughly before you proceed.
