A few rekated thoughts that may
help muddy the water. Prewar Kiekhaefers had parts list as part of owners manual. Post 1953 Kiekhaefer adopete the parts manual and parts numbering system used up to present. Post WW2 to when the
current parts system was adopted Kiekhaefer had a chart
    system with part numbers with
an “M” prefix. Kiekhaefer issued a New Parts List converting the two prior part
systems to the new system as
    well as revised parts manuala
    which combined models made in
    a series such as KF5, Mark 5
and Mark 6 as well as KE7 thru
KF7,KG7 and KG4. This can be very helpful when looking for a replacement part as Kiekhaeft often used same part
    on several models or sometimes
only for one year on one model. Same part number means same part. Kiekhaefer usually
issued its own part number for
vendor supplied items such at bearings and seals, Usually these can be crossed back to
    vendor part number.
The lower seal on KF5, Mark 5
ect, had a Mercury Service Tool which doubled as a stand.
I once had part of the tool
and gave it to one who worked
    on the KF5 series.
    opinion with no cah value
