I don’t know what led you to believe your motor has a battery ing. It has (or should have)points, coil, and condenser under the flywheel. This model never came with a battery ignition, however someone may have converted the motor to a homemade battery ignition as the coils have often failed in these.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
