By the looks of the  rotating “side post”  pushing the magneto I think this baby  never had the GC dropped because the top bolts were factory pristine

actually my comment  referred to the 2  bolts  heads holding the  clips on the top  of the rotating  side shaft controlling the   magneto rotation….. not the GC bolts.

I had  also referred to them initially   thinking  that removal  was   mandatory  to remove the PH to access the impeller as is the case fora 5.5hp  but as you know the shift  link clip  was enough to drop the GC .  Why no O-ring /roll pin   were  not  installed  above the carbon seal and below the brass cup  remains a   mystery ….may they were  removed with the PH off but the guy who did the work  left no traces …! .
