    Noted your comment Frank on the 1957 Gale 25hp electric starter being a 6 volt starter.  I have a 1956 Gale 12hp and a 1957 Gale 12hp, to date saw horse queens, both have electric start, are these also 6 volt?  Will using  a 12 volt starting system damage the factory starters, i.e., shorten their life.  Thanks in advance, Shell in Oregon, (Puget Sounders Chapter).
